100 Days of Heart of Caring

Brenda Walker
Director of Sales and Marketing, Mahoney House

At Senior Lifestyle, we seek team members who uphold our core CHART values, but we especially look to the leaders within each community to model caring, honesty, appreciation, respect and teamwork to their coworkers. Today’s Heart of Caring nominee is one such leader recognized for the way she models caring to the rest of her team.

“Brenda is the perfect example of a Team Builder. She always walks into work with a smile on her face and spreads cheer to everyone around her throughout the day. Brenda is consistent, reliable and always gives her best effort in whatever she does. Her example alone makes her a leader in our community.”

“Our [team] needs to see that their leadership is consistent as the day is long with their work ethics and practices. Brenda is this person. You can count on her to be at work and you can count on her to uphold the policies and procedures of SLC without fail. Brenda takes her faith very seriously and it is visible in how she treats her job duties and especially other people.”

Brenda’s heart of caring earned her recognition among her team mates, but also among the residents she cares for. Her reputation for genuinely caring about their well-being serves her well as she continuously seeks new ways to support and serve them.

“Brenda is adored by every resident in our community because she shows by her actions that she truly cares about them. They know they can always count on Brenda to be an advocate for them and their quality of life at our community. As a program director and now our director of sales and marketing, Brenda has been involved in many aspects of resident life such as resident council, bible studies, singing, bingo and the list could go on and on. She enriches the lives of our residents with her cheery disposition and her consistent involvement in their daily lives – not just as an employee of our community, but as a friend and companion.”

Congratulations on the well-deserved nomination, Brenda. Thank you for all you do not just to serve our residents, but also the team you lead at Mahoney House.
