Meals on Wheels Chicago

Working in partnership with the Chicago Department on Aging (CDoA) and the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD), Meals on Wheels Chicago raises the funding to provide desperately needed services that would otherwise not be covered by government funds.
Meals on Wheels Chicago is more than just a meal. To many clients, the meal service is the final piece of the puzzle; they are able to care for their other needs or have sufficient help and support to do so. For many others however, the meals are only the first step toward stabilizing their home environment. Inability to access or prepare meals infers that other daily needs may also be going unmet as well. We do our best to reduce the chance of premature institutionalization for all Chicagoans by not only providing healthy daily meals and a friendly driver's contact, but also by assisting them with their situation as a whole. This is where our city partners social work staff of the Chicago Department on Aging and Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities comes into play.
