The SLC Dining for Wellness™ helps our residents live a healthy lifestyle through the food they eat on a daily basis. Dining for Wellness™ features an increased awareness of health benefits to our residents and their families, incorporating education, food and fun to impact the well being of our residents and give them "a taste of wellness."

Dining for Wellness™ offers a series of six special menus focused on items that support specific areas of healthy living for seniors. The menu series provides creative dining choices as well as informative details on how the items support a well rounded fit life-click here to see an example menu. The Dining for Wellness menus focus on food items that impact Hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes, macular degeneration, memory loss and arthritis control. Informational lectures are held throughout the campaign months to explain how diet can affect a condition such as those listed above. "We selected health issues that can really be changed by diet," says David Koelling, vice president of corporate services.

At Senior Lifestyle Corporation, we believe we are only as good as our last meal.

Because our residents eat in the same community restaurants every day, we strive to make our menus innovative, creative and lively. Our meals are prepared by chefs who work together to make healthy eating a treat. The Dining for Wellness™ menus as well as the daily menu selections feature fresh, seasonal cuisine. Wherever feasible, we source seasonal specialties locally.

Great meals are the heart of our communities and our dining staff is its soul. They understand their critical role in the life of each resident, from the start of the day to the final evening snack. Their positive attitudes and terrific energy are the icing on our homemade cake.
