5-Star Living at Greatwood

It’s time to enjoy the country club lifestyle! Surrounded by golf courses and expansive parkland, here at Greatwood you’ll find all the amenities of a 5-Star resort, along with care services tailored specifically for your lifestyle. With both Sugar Land Independent Living and Assisted Living lifestyle options available, you can find more time to live the life you’ve always dreamed at Greatwood here in beautiful Sugar Land, Texas. Visit us and see why readers of two different publications chose us as the Best Retirement & Assisted Living Community in Fort Bend in 2012!

Picture a life of ease and independence

Located in beautiful Fort Bend County near three major hospitals, numerous shopping centers, George Ranch, and Brazos Bend State Park, there’s a little something for everyone at Greatwood. Our transportation service can take you to any of these attractions, but if you would rather stay in, there is plenty to do—or not do—inside our community as well. Our common areas include a library, puzzle room, card room, community room with large flat screen TV, exercise room, activity room, private dining room, laundry rooms, and comfy lounge areas. We also offer restaurant-style dining all day, as well as a very active Resident Council and Food Committee, in addition to our many special interest resident group opportunities.

Care that’s always there

Our Sugar Land Assisted Living residents and residents’ families receive valuable peace of mind knowing that trained nursing staff are on-site 24 hours a day. Within assisted living, we offer four levels of care, which include optional services for medication management, assistance with bathing and dressing, incontinence care, reminders for activities and meals, and two-hour scheduled checks for safety.

Worry-free lifestyle with just a simple lease

While some communities insist on new residents plopping down huge, non-refundable payments up-front, we like to do things a little differently. We care about not only the physical and emotional well being of our residents, but their financial health as well. That’s why we offer our residents all the perks of country club living without the expensive buy-in—just a simple lease.

Live Well, Dine Well

Allow our professionally trained service staff to present you with delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At Senior Lifestyle, dining is an integral part of the resident experience, and we do everything we can to delight you with a personalized dining experience.

Dining Directors and Executive Chefs meet with residents to discuss and incorporate enhancements to the menu, special requests, favorite recipes or foods, and unless otherwise specified by state regulations we offer therapeutic diets such as reduced concentrated sweets, mechanical soft and purée. Residents can select healthy, locally sourced options based on the nutritional information, or they can simply opt to choose their favorites. And we always encourage residents and relatives to make special arrangements when expecting a family visit!

Executive Bio for Greatwood at Sugar Land

Meet Our Executive Director

Justin Morin
Justin Morin joins Greatwood at Sugar Land with over 12 years of experience in senior living, working as a Sales Counselor and a Sales and Marketing Director. When asked about his favorite part of the job, he enthusiastically replies, “My favorite part of my job is being able to see a resident smile in surprise. It can be the smallest gesture or action but when I provide service that surpasses expectation then that is when I feel like I’ve done something positive. For me, leading a community isn’t really a job it’s more like fun.”

Justin feels that Greatwood at Sugar Land is unique because of the connection between staff and residents: “Our community is welcoming to visitors, families and new residents…At Greatwood our management team works with our residents to form a genuine partnership, after all it is their community. I believe residents come first, and everything else just takes care of itself.”

Justin attended Texas Tech University and Northeastern Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelor’s of Management degree. In his personal time he enjoys spending time with family, deer hunting, baseball, football, “a little politics” and rafting or kayaking down a river.

Justin credits working as a maintenance assistant at community where his grandparents lived with his decision to work in the senior care industry, and would love to share some of the highlights of Greatwood at Sugar Land with you!

Awards for Greatwood at Sugar Land

And the Award Goes to…

Since Senior Lifestyle was founded in 1985, our skilled and compassionate team has been helping Senior Living residents learn, grow, and connect in ways they never expected. The best part is that we learn from our residents even more than they learn from us, which might explain why our programs and services continue to evolve and improve every year. As a result of our high level of service, we’ve received official recognition over the years. While we are proud of these awards, our passion for what we do continues to drive us to improve every single day.

“Melanie was very professional and highly effective at communicating the offerings of the community. We appreciated her openness to the ‘Day Stay’ concept which could fulfill a more immediate need. The facility was very nice and we appreciated the options of the combination of independent living with added assisted living as an option especially in the care of a couple coming in with different needs. This probably is closest to meeting our immediate needs. The two bedroom apartment (royal oak) that she showed us was by far the most ‘homey’ of all of the rooms that we saw and would provide the best transition option if they moved today. I liked the indoor carpeted hallways. The facility was very clean and appealing in every way and the festive decorations were a fun touch we didn’t see at other places. We didn’t see many residents, again due to the time of the day of the tour. Of the residents we saw, Melanie greeted two by name and they responded positively to her as well. We would …definitely keep this community on the list of options for the future care of our parents” – A Place For Mom Customer
