Today’s featured nominee in our 100 Days of Heart of Caring series is a medication aide who goes out of his way to make time to care for and serve each resident beyond the call of duty. Meet Eric Martinex, med-aide at the Garnet at Casa Grande and a team member whose supervisor “really feel[s] this team member is one of our best that we have had in a long time.”
“He shows so much compassion for the remarkable care that he gives to our residents every day. He really has the ability to care for the residents and never ask them to hurry even if he didn’t have the time.”
“[The residents] feel that he is truly listening to what their needs are and they know that if he tells them he will do something for them, they can trust that is what he will do. He approaches the residents with a calming voice and a great smile each time he interacts with them and does all he can to make them comfortable and happy.”
Eric’s heart of caring impacts every interaction he has with the residents he cares for, and even extends to the model he sets for his fellow teammates.
“Eric is a great med-aide that has the ability to not only earn the respect and trust of our residents, but also with his coworkers; the new employees have nothing but great things to say about how he helps them with the new roles that they are trying to learn. He has a way of really listening to people and not just saying that he will do something…He is always available to step in and help out, never saying that he is too busy.”
