Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) are a long-term care option for older adults who want to stay in the same place as they age. As care needs change over time, residents can smoothly transition their care services without changing their living situation. For example, someone can move into a CCRC at the Independent Living care level, with fewer needs, and progress through Assisted Living and Memory Care, if needed.
