1. Golf

Egg Harbor Township has several golf courses right in town and dozens more within 20 miles of the Township. For seniors who love to golf, some options include:

  • Ballamor Golf Club: Golfers on this course are surrounded by dense forest as they play. The organization promotes “easy to hit fairways and large greens,” perfect for newer golfers.
  • Harbor Pines Golf Club: The Harbor Pines Golf Club includes seven sets of tees, so golfers can tee off at the exact level they’re comfortable with. The course also has 12 ponds and 17 acres of water, creating picturesque views throughout the course.
  • McCullough’s Emerald Golf Links: This 18-hole golf course is a tribute to Irish and Scottish golf courses, with water on several holes and 100-foot elevation changes.
  • Twisted Dune Golf Club: This 18-hole links-style golf course has lots of challenging elements, including more than 100 deep traps and bunkers, deep ravines and twisting landscapes.

2. Renault Winery

Renault Winery is a top destination for wine lovers in Egg Harbor Township. It’s been around for more than 150 years and offers daily tastings of its variety of American champagnes, reds and whites. On Wednesdays, the winery hosts a Historic Tour and Taste of Renault, a guided tour of the winery with several curated pairings of wine and food.

The winery also offers memberships for its Renault Wine Club, plus has an 18-hole championship golf course on the grounds. You can also head there to enjoy events like cigars and sips, pie-making classes and live music.

3. Cygnus Creative Arts Centre

The Cygnus Creative Arts Centre is a community arts space with musical instrument and vocal classes, dance performances and a variety of visual arts courses. The arts center features senior-exclusive classes in subjects like yoga, tai chi, drawing, painting, dance and movement. All 65-year-old and older classes are free to residents in Atlantic County.

4. Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve

The Egg Harbor Township Nature Reserve spans 220 acres and includes a wooded forest, a lake area and an environmental learning center. Visitors can observe and learn about nature, as well as participate in activities like hiking, bird watching, biking and fishing.

5. Storybook Land

For seniors whose loved ones include kids, Storybook Land is a great place to spend a day with young ones. The amusement park, which debuted in 1955, features all kid-friendly rides and attractions with unlimited access to ride with each ticket. There are mini-roller coasters, swinging rides, bumper cars and more. Several food sites are also on the premises.

6. Libraries

There are a couple main libraries in Egg Harbor Township that seniors can visit to access free materials, including books, magazines, digital media and other resources. These include:

  • Egg Harbor City Branch: This library provides resources including public computers, a color and black-and-white printer, mobile printing, a black-and-white copier, a scanner, a fax machine and free Wi-Fi. There are typically at least a dozen unique and locally brewed flavors on the menu at all times. The brewery also hosts special events, like food and beer pairings and parties.

8. Shooters Sporting Center

Shooters Sporting Center has both an outdoor sporting center and wheelchair-accessible indoor shooting ranges for firearm and shooting enthusiasts. In addition to firearms ranges, the center also has an indoor archery range and an outdoor 3D archery range.

The space sells a variety of guns, ammunition, gear and accessories, as well as archery and camping equipment. If you’d rather practice, you can head to the shooting range or attend training sessions to learn new skills.

9. Bob’s Garden Center

Bob’s Garden Center in Egg Harbor Township is a top destination for gardeners. The center has been open for nearly 60 years and sells houseplants, home décor, and patio and lawn supplies. In addition to gardening tools, the center also sells artisan local products and unique gifts and accessories, including locally made honey and visual art from local artists.

10. King Pin Bowl Entertainment Center
