For Alexis Tucker, a CNA at Brookstone Estates of Paris, these connections have become so strong that she simply treats the residents as if they were her own family.

Alexis’ heart of caring gives her the ability to develop family-like relationships with the residents she cares for, but she’s also been recognized for the positivity and “bubbly personality” with which she cares for residents and team members alike. For one resident in particular, her positivity and heart of caring has truly had a profound impact.
“She has a good relationship with one resident that makes the resident happy; [the resident] always wants to know if this one CNA is here today. This CNA always listens to [the resident’s] stories, gives her advice on her jewelry making, looks at [the jewelry] and tells her how wonderful of a job she is doing. The resident [also] wants to hear how this CNA is doing with her nursing classes she is taking, and much more. This gives that resident something to look forward to everyday, a reason to get up just to see team members and hear about their day also. This is a CNA who is here for her residents not just a pay check. That is what it’s all about!!!”
