Today’s Heart of Caring nominee has a reputation not just for caring, but also for teamwork. As told by her fellow team mates at Reed House, Janice VanNess goes above any beyond to work with her coworkers to provide best-in-class care every day.
“Janice exemplifies teamwork. Janice communicates in a manner that is inclusive and candid, she involves the entire team. She is not only committed to doing an exceptional job herself she takes the time to mentor our new employees, explain the processes to them in a manner that encourages growth and a sense of team. Janice is able to balance her position her with her family and other duties and remain focused on the needs of our residents. She is calm, meticulous, willing to go the extra distance to insure our residents have the care they need. Janice is also willing to pitch in and help out no matter how large the project or who needs assistance.”
Janice’s connections with her team mates allow her to maximize the entire team’s ability to care for and support residents and family members at Reed House. Her compassion and selfless service allow her to adapt to every situation to provide exceptional care for each and every resident.
“Janice makes everyday she’s on duty special for each resident. You will see her taking the time to visit with the residents, have a conversation, learn what is important to them or what’s on their minds. She always smiles and the residents can count on her bringing a positive attitude and can do spirit to everything she does. Small things like that truly make a difference in the residents lives.”
