For those unfamiliar with the term “plant operations,” greenery and landscaping is only a small part of what our plant ops team oversees. Tasked with managing the functionality of everything from housekeeping to carpeting and boilers to water towers, today’s featured Heart of Caring nominee is an excellent example of how invaluable these team members are to the day-in, day-out care of our residents.
“Jose shows he cares for our residents by always rearranging his schedule to meet their needs. He will address their unique work orders on the spot as often as possible. He will also take time daily to pour coffee for our residents or just visit them to brighten their day.”
Jose’s attention to detail and heart of caring encompasses not only his operational tasks, but also the relationships he builds with residents and team members alike.
“Jose goes far beyond just doing work orders and making repairs. He takes pride in getting to know residents and their needs.”
“Jose is a role model for us all because he consistently puts the needs of our residents before anything else. He refuses to go home before ensuring that he addresses their pressing needs.”
His positive, can-do attitude has even earned Jose a nickname among the residents: Mr. Fix It.
“They like to point out how he can fix anything from AC’s to buttons on a shirt. At some point in time, Jose has taken the time to fix a little bit of everything for our residents to ensure that they are safe, secure and happy.”
