The Community Relations Director will lead the sales and marketing department at the community.
Job Description
- Salary- 95 K
- Oversee a portfolio of vendor accounts.
- Understanding and thoroughly researching community, vendor or team member inquiries regarding products, contracts, customer service concerns and overall account information.
- Resolving problems, proposing new solutions and providing proactive follow-up in a timely manner.
- Arrange and participate in Business Reviews.
- Review and redline contracts, provide input and work with Legal and Risk Management
- Act as the liaison for Senior Lifestyle (communities and corporate team) with vendors and purchasing groups.
- Establish a thorough knowledge of the products, services, contracts, vendors and relationships Senior Lifestyle has.
- Use strategic, analytical and independent judgement in providing resolution.
- Seek out, vet and present new vendors, product or service opportunities to enhance the existing portfolio.
- Perform evaluations of vendor proposals including selection, negotiation, pricing, and contracting.
- Audit formularies and order guides to ensure pricing accuracy.
- Attend trainings, industry functions, and conferences as assigned; conducts community site visits as determined by The Director of Procurement.
- Produce and manage ongoing reports including Yardi, DSSI and individual vendor reports; these are related to order guides, spend, trending, budgeting, and price comparisons.
- Manage DSSI and process reports via DSSI tools
- Assist in the process for acquisition and disposition of communities.
- Participate in and lead Procurement training.
- Performs additional work duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Procurement.
Qualifications
Level of Formal Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Years of Experience: Experienced Professional (5-10 years)
Type of Experience: Project management, sales support, contract negotiation, pricing analysis and comparisons; leading meetings with both internal and external teams
Language Skills: Capable of communicating efficiently and properly
Technical Competencies: Microsoft Office Products; ability to create Power Point presentations
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to build lasting relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task several initiatives at the same time
- Ability to solve practical problems, think independently, and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to manage time effectively and work well under tight deadlines or without a deadline
- Ability to interact with a multitude of various personalities and adjust accordingly.
- Identify opportunities for a change in vendor, project, or product category and continually share needs and expectations.
- Established analytical, problem solving, contract and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with GPOs (Group Purchasing Organizations) and how to efficiently partner with them
Information Systems: Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word and Adobe required
