1. Visit a Public Park

Lake Zurich has 32 public parks that span more than 245 acres. The park spaces are diverse and include beaches, green spaces, playgrounds, picnic shelters, playing fields and other amenities. Notable parks in the area and their amenities include:

2. Stop by the Village of Lake Zurich Farmers Market

The Village of Lake Zurich Farmers Market takes place each Friday, weather permitting, from June through September from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Paulus Park. More than 30 vendors and artisans sell goods at the farmers market, including fresh produce, bakery items, hot prepared food, fresh meat, eggs, cheese, spices, honey, pesto, seafood and more.

There’s also live music and pet rescue tents with animals up for adoption. It’s a great way to mingle with community members, meet local makers and shop for high-quality food ingredients.

3. Eat at a Local Restaurant

The Lake Zurich area is home to many diverse restaurants that serve a variety of culinary tastes. The area includes family-friendly options, fine dining, sports bars, breakfast and brunch spots, and outdoor and lakeside dining. Some of the top dining destinations in the Lake Zurich area include:

  • Bobbers Lake Zurich: This lakeside restaurant serves American classics like burgers, chicken wings and cheese curds, as well as seafood dishes like garlic shrimp, grilled Cajun cod and fish and chips. You can also head here for events like Tuesday night trivia competitions.
  • D&J Bistro: This upscale restaurant, with outdoor seating available, specializes in French cuisine, with dishes like escargot, pate, duck and braised veal sweetbread.
  • Francesca’s Tavola: Located in nearby Arlington Heights, this Italian restaurant specializes in handmade dishes from regions including Rome, Tuscany, Lazio and Umbria. Diners can enjoy tasty pasta, steak, pork and seafood recipes.

4. Sip at a Brewery, Distillery or Winery

  • Lynfred Winery: Located in nearby Roselle, Lynfred Winery is open daily for indoor and outdoor wine tasting experiences. On weekends Friday through Sunday, the winery also sells fresh bread. It occasionally hosts food trucks, too.
  • Mickey Finn’s Brewery: Mickey Finn’s Brewery in nearby Libertyville is the oldest brewpub in Illinois, open since 1994. The brewery serves food, presents weekly karaoke nights and hosts live music bands in its space.
  • Valentino Vineyards & Winery: This winery in nearby Long Grove produces more than 20 different types of wines and hosts wine tastings in its tasting room from May through December.

A short drive to Green Oaks also takes residents and visitors to North Shore Distillery, which creates a variety of vodkas, gins, whiskeys and other spirits.
